Amendment #2 to Agreement for Design/Build Services at Melbourne High School
The purpose of this Agenda Item is to close the Agreement for Design-Build Services with Skanska USA Building, Inc. for the Additions and Renovations project at Melbourne High School.
Skanska USA Building, Inc. was approved as the Design-Builder for the Additions and Renovations project at Melbourne High School on February 9, 2007 for a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of $21,200,000. Previously approved Amendment #1 increased the GMP to $22,035,000. Amendment #2 is a decrease to the GMP in the amount of <$2,959,600.61> to deduct Owner Direct Purchases, Unused Contingency and Audit Adjustments.
The final GMP contained in this Amendment is consistent with the Independent Accountant's Report prepared by Carr, Riggs & Ingram dated November 9, 2009.
The decrease of the GMP contained in this Amendment consists of two elements:
Remaining funds in the project will be used to perform additional work at Melbourne High School in the following priority:
Upon completion of the additional work listed above, any remaining funds will, upon Board approval, be transfered to another project within the Certificate of Participation (COP) or used to pay debt on the COP.
Approve Amendment #2 to modify the Agreement for Design-Build Services with Skanska USA Building, Inc. for the Additions and Renovations project at Melbourne High School to decrease the Guaranteed Maximum Price in the amount of <$2,959,600.61> to $19,075,399.39. Accept the Agreement as complete and authorize the release of all remaining retention to Skanska USA Building, Inc.
