Merritt Island FIRST Robotics Team 801 field trip to Huntsvlle, Alabama

Discussion
The Robotics Team is requesting permission to attend the FIRST Rocket City Regionals in Huntsville, Alabama on March 22-26, 2016.  Approximately 16-20 students will be attending.  The five adult chaperones are both male and female.  One chaperone is a current Brevard County School employee, one is an interim pastor for 1st Presbyterian Church New Smyrna Beach, one is a project engineer manager mentor with Lockheed Martin, one is a materials and processes engineer for ERC Inc. and one is a physical scientist with NASA.  All chaperones are properly fingerprinted with the District.  The team will travel by charter bus and will be staying at a FIRST authorized hotel closest to the event.  The charter bus will be used to transport students and chaperones from/to the Von Braun Center.  The trip will be funded by various fundraisers and business partners.  There will be no cost to the District.  There will be no missed school days as this is Spring Break.

Recommendation
Approve the field trip request for Merritt Island High FIRST Robotics Team to travel to Huntsville, Alabama March 22-26, 2016.
