Teaching American History Grant

Discussion

Becoming An American is a proposal from US DOE Teaching American History (TAH) to provide professional development & growth to 100 - 5th and 8th grade teachers over 5 years to increase their American history content and instructional skills, and to increase student reading comprehension through reading literature on American history topics.  Each year, teachers will focus on epic periods in history: Exploration & Settlement, American Liberty, Growth & Expansion, Immigration, and Conflicts & Change.

This grant program will be similar in operation to the 2005 funded TAH grant program which is ending. Funding is estimated at $330,000 per year for 5 years. No cash match is required.
