School Board Policy Revision - #7510, Use of District Facilities

Discussion

The following four clarifications are being made to the policy:

1. Open land on a campus may be used by outside entities without the need for staff to be present during use.
2. "For-profit entities" may use district facilities for commercial or personal gain outside the normal school day, but staff according to Florida Statute 112.131, cannot use district facilities or school property for commercial or personal gain.
3. When an outside user charges admission to an event on campus they are allowed to do so to recover their costs or more.
4. When an outside user charges admission to an event such use is no longer limited to events that are of educational benefit of students only.



Recommendation
Adopt/approve the revisions to Board Policy #7510, Use of District Facilities.
