Agenda Item #33
Titusville High School Fundraiser "The Country Legends"
Titusville High School has an opportunity for a fundraiser for the Athletic Program. They had been approached by a band "The Country Legends" to perform for the community. The performance is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2013 in the Performing Arts Building at Titusville High School. The group performs songs by major country legend singers, both past and present. Some include Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty and Taylor Swift to name a few. The show lasts two hours with an intermission. Country Legends will receive $1,500 plus five percent (5%) of the ticket sales. The ticket price will be $20 and the school hopes to sell 650 tickets. They will be on campus beginning at noon with the performance starting at 7:00 p.m. and ending at 9:30 p.m. They set up and take down their own equipment. This band has had performances at Holy Trinity School in Melbourne and Vero Beach High School in Indian River County. Each of these schools actually have three shows in one weekend because of it's success. This is the only band that will be performing. The plan is to use the funds, estimated at $13,000 before expenses to supplement the Athletic program at Titusville High School. The anticipated expenditures are the performance fee, required security, the theatre personnel, stage manager, rigging and lighting manager. The advertising of this event will be through the school newspaper, school website, Chamber of Commerce and poster, provided by the band, in local businesses around the town. The group will be complying with all School Board vendor requirements, insurance and back ground checks.
