Field Trip - Merritt Island High School FIRST Robotics - FIRST World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri
The Merritt Island High Robotics Team consisting of approximately twelve (12) student and three (3) chaperones is planning to attend the FIRST World Championship in St. Louis, MO on April 25-29, 2012. The three adult chaperones are both male and female. One is a current Brevard Public School employee, one is Lockheed Martin employee and one is currently working with the US Navy who are properly fingerprinted with the district. The team will travel by plane and will be staying at a FIRST authorized hotel closest to the event. Student will either walk or take public transportation from the hotel to the Edward Jones Dome.
The trip will be funded by various fundraisers and business partners including Lockheed Martin, IBM, NDEP, JC Penney, and Gov. Connection. There will be no cost to the District.
Approve the request for the Merritt Island High Robotics Team, approximately twelve (12) students and three (3) chaperones to attend the FIRST World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri on April 25-29, 2012. The students will miss three (3) school days.
