Agenda Item #13
School Recognition Bonuses, Junior/Senior High and Senior High Schools
Past experience indicates that a significant portion of the School Recognition funds will be expended on bonuses for employees. It is the intent that this agenda item provide authorization for the five qualifying Junior/Senior High and Senior High Schools to pay employees bonus amounts, which have been determined jointly by their respective SACs (School Advisory Councils) and staff members. Approval of this item authorizes Human Resources to set up bonuses for payment, based on the decisions made by each of the five qualifying Junior/Senior High and Senior High Schools. This process, as in the past, alleviates individual schools from having to generate separate board agenda items. This does not eliminate the obligation of the schools to provide detailed information to both Human Resources and Budgeting. Approval of this item will allow for payment of bonuses to occur at the earliest possible date. As in the past, the School Board will be kept informed as to the planned expenditures of the total funds.
A listing of the five qualifying Junior/Senior High and Senior High Schools, along with their respective award amounts, is attached for reference.
