Merritt Island FIRST Robotics Team 801 - FIRST World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri

The Robotics Team is requesting permission to attend the FIRST Championship in St. Louis, Missouri, April 22-26, 2015.  Approximately 12-18 students will be attending.  The five adult chaperones are both male and female.  One (1) chaperone is a current Brevard Public school employee, one (1) is a logistic specialist mentor from NDEP, one (1) is a project engineer manager mentor with Lockheed Martin, one (1) is a mechanical engineer mentor for Jacob Technologist and one (1) is a project manager mentor with Vencore.  All chaperones are properly fingerprinted with the District.  The team will travel by plane and will be staying at a FIRST authorized hotel closest to the event.  Students will be either walking or taking public transportation from the hotel to the Edward Jones Dome.  The trip will be funded by various fundraisers and business partner including Jacobs Technology, NDEP, Lockheed Martin, and Brevard Public Schools.  There will be no cost to the District.  Students will miss three school days.

Approve the request for the Merritt Island Robotics Team Horsepower to attend the FIRST Championship in St. Louis, Missouri on April 22-26, 2105.
