Agenda Item #36
Roosevelt Elementary School - HVAC Upgrades - Change Order and Close-out
On April 08, 2014 the School Board approved Wharton-Smith, Inc. to provide Construction Management Services to replace the HVAC cooling tower and chiller unit serving the entire campus at Roosevelt Elementary School under their Continuing Contract for Construction Management Services for a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) $537,730.86.
The work has been completed. Reconciliation requested by the District has resulted in a credit for unspent Contingency, Sales Tax Savings and Owner Direct Purchases (ODP) in the amount of $193,536.14. The $143,343.28 ODP portion of the credit is an administrative change only because the material and equipment were purchased directly by the District for installation by the Construction Manager. The $50,192.86 portion of the credit for unspent Contingency and Sales Tax Savings will be returned to the Capital Fund for use on future projects.
Because the cost of the project is over $300,000, the Florida Department of Education requires the Superintendent to sign the Certificate of Final Inspection (OEF-209) following certification by the Engineer/Architect of Record and the Building Official.
