Both documents reference an Independent Citizens Oversight Committee (ICOC), appointed by the School Board to ensure proper fiscal stewardship of the sales surtax proceeds.
The ICOC Selection Committee, composed of representatives from the four Brevard County Chambers of Commerce and the Capital Outlay Committee, and three parents (north, central and south), met on December 11, 2014. At the meeting, the Selection Committee reviewed 29 applicants and recommended 11 for approval by the School Board.
Subsequent to the selection process, one of the 11 recommended applicants withdrew their name from consideration. The remaining 10 applicants recommended by the Selection Committee are submitted for approval by the School Board as members of the inaugural ICOC.
