Agenda Item #30
F-20. HVAC System Upgrades
Provided as Attachment I is information previously shared with the Board in my 11/15/07 recommendation for FY07/08 facility improvements. The air conditioning of the remaining non air conditioned secondary school gyms was a part of the approved April 2005 Facility Improvement Plan.
Authorize the Facility Maintenance Department to contract for the Design/Installation of new air conditioning systems for the following six (6) middle school gyms and the replacement of deteriorating roof top A/C units at Creel E.S. at a cost not-to-exceed $3,195,485.
The secondary school gyms that need new HVAC systems are Jackson, Kennedy, Jefferson, Roosevelt, Madison and DeLaura. The Roosevelt facility was originally designed as a middle school but it is presently being utilized as an elementary school and it is recommended that the gym be air conditioned.
