Palm Bay High School Robotics Trip to Anaheim, California
Palm Bay High School is requesting Board approval to participate in the 2013 VEX Robotics High School World Championship in Anaheim, California, on April 17-20, 2013.
Ten students and four chaperones plan to travel to Anaheim, California, by American Air. They will leave Palm Bay at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16. The group will stay at the Anaheim Hilton Convention Center. The competition will begin on Wednesday, April 17, and continue through Saturday, April 20. The group will return to Palm Bay at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21. Four days of school (April 16-19) will be missed. The students are not scheduled for FCAT testing during this time.
The cost per student is $703.80. Students will pay $150 of this cost plus provide funds to cover their individual meals. The remainder of the cost will be covered by fundraisers, corporate sponsorships and grants. There will be no cost to the District.
