02-12-2019 Board Workshop (Mental Health Continuum Update)


The School Board of Brevard County, Florida met for a Board Workshop on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at the Educational Services Facility, 2700 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera, Florida. Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Eagle newspaper on Thursday, January 31, 2019. The affidavit of publication with a copy of the ad attached is filed in the Affidavit File in the Board Office.

Minutes: 

Chris Moore, assistant superintendent of Student Services, facilitated the presentation.  She introduced District staff whose responsibilities are integral in helping to provide equitable support for every student's social-emotional development.

As Ms. Moore went through the presentation she stressed the importance of support services and putting the pieces of the puzzle together.  You cannot have one without all of them: Positive School Culture and Climate; Problem Solving and Copying Skills; Safe School Environment and Access to Mental Health Services.

Ms. Moore and her staff provided information as requested from Board members.
