Agenda Item #8
Honor Nickolas Caso for Helping a Choking Victim
On January 20, during breakfast, Nickolas Caso, an eighth grade student from L.B. Johnson Middle School, was eating with his friends in the cafeteria. He noticed that one of his friend's face had turned red and could no longer talk. He immediately sprung into action, performed the Heimlich maneuver and dislodged the piece of breakfast sandwich that had become caught in the student's airway.
Nickolas was honored at Johnson Middle School for his quick response that saved his friend's life. Mr. Robert Fish, school principal, remarked, "We honor Nickolas Caso for doing the right thing. Thanks to his brave and appropriate actions, a life was saved."
