Job Descriptions - BCSO

Discussion
In partnership with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, the School Board of Brevard County will enter into a Memorandum of Understanding outlining the employment of a BCSO Lieutenant and a BCSO Agent to be assigned to BPS.  The MOU has been reviewed and approved by Board counsel.  

Both positions will provide protective services, training, and administrative action to the students and staff of BPS and will provide leadership to the School Resource Officer roles district-wide.  This MOU shall become effective July 1, 2016 and will terminate on June 30, 2017.  Due to the retirement of the incumbent, the BCSO will provide transition services to BPS from May 1, 2016 through June 30, 2016 at no cost to the District.


Recommendation
Recommend approval of the MOU and associated job descriptions supporting the partnership of BPS with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.
