02-24-2015 Special School Board Meeting
Agenda Item #29

Title
Sea Park Elementary School - Guaranteed Maximum Price for Concrete Repairs and Roof Replacement for Building 14 Pavilion

Discussion

The District's Permitting Office identified concrete spalling and roof issues that are not in compliance with SREF and safety standards. These issues were investigated by a structural engineering consultant, Droor & Associations, under the District's continuing contract. The consultant recommended concrete repair and installation of a new two ply roof system.

Canaveral Construction Company, Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the construction under the District's continuing contract for construction management services for an amount not to exceed $78,632.00.

The total project budget for the construction, administration, permitting, inspections and contingency is estimated not to exceed $88,700.

Because the project is to correct code and safety deficiencies, it will ultimately be funded through the sales tax. However, because sales tax revenues have not yet been received, the project will be advance-funded through the FY 2014-15 Capital Budget for correction of code and safety deficiencies.

Board approval is required for a purchase order over $25,000. In order to expedite the work, approval is requested as a consent agenda item without prior information.
