Andersen Elementary School - Guaranteed Maximum Price for Air Handler Unit Replacement at Buildings 2, 3 and 5


The air handler units serving buildings 2, 3 and 5 at Andersen Elementary School have deteriorated and are nearing the end of their useful life.

Heard Construction, Inc., has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) under their continuing contract for construction management services for an amount not to exceed $593,384.71 for the replacement of the air handler units in buildings 2, 3 and 5 at Andersen Elementary School. The design was done under the District's continuing services contract with OCI Associates.

The total project budget for the design, construction, administration, permitting, inspection and contingency is estimated not to exceed $672,615.

This project is included in the priority sales tax project list. However, because sales tax revenues have not yet been received, the project will be advance-funded through the FY 2014-15 Capital Budget.

Board approval is required for a purchase order over $25,000. In order to expedite the work, approval is requested without prior information.


Approve the Andersen Elementary School air handler replacement budget for a total project cost not to exceed $672,615.

Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) submitted by Heard Construction, Inc. under their continuing contract for construction management services for the Andersen Elementary School Air Handler Replacement Project for the amount not to exceed $593,384.71.
