Agenda Item #33
Health Opportunities through Physical Education (HOPE) Instructional Materials Adoption
A district-wide committee of teachers, administrators, and parents have reviewed and selected HOPE instructional materials for recommendation to the Board for use in Brevard Public Schools grades 9-12. These materials were reviewed evaluating their alignment with the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for health and physical education, as well as the Florida English/language arts and math standards associated with the HOPE course. Teacher training in the use of the adopted materials will be provided during pre-planning and on district in-service days. Updated curriculum guides, aligned with new instructional materials, will be developed and provided to all HOPE teachers.
Approve the HOPE instructional materials as recommended by the district adoption committee.
