Revision to Policy 7110 - Student Accommodation
Policy 7110 - Student Accommodation is being revised to clarify strategies for student accommodation when student enrollment exceeds the permanent (design) capacity of a school and revise the strategies for consideration of school closure.
At the School Board meeting on December 10, 2013, the Board requested that several proposed criteria be clarified and directed staff to incorporate two of the criteria proposed by the Capital Outlay Committee.
At the School Board meeting on January 21, 2014, the Board directed staff to convene a committee to recommend weights for the proposed criteria.
A committee met on February 18, 2014 to review school closure procedures, criteria and guidelines recommended by staff. Based on input from the committee, a School Closure Analysis Procedure, with (weighted) Criteria and Guidelines for School Closure Analysis, and a School Closure Procedure are recommended as Administrative Procedures for Policy 7110.
Authorize the Superintendent to advertise for a Public Hearing to approve the recommended revisions to Policy 7110 - Student Accommodation, the Administrative Procedure for School Closure Analysis with (weighted) Criteria and Guidelines for School Closure Analysis and the Administrative Procedure for School Closure.
