2013 Food Service Capital Projects
Food Services requires facility renovations and equipment replacements/upgrades in order to provide adequate service at the following schools:
Architects in Association Rood, Zwick & Kerr, Inc. (RZK) have submitted proposals totaling $77,018.00 under their Continuing Contract for Architectural-Engineering Services to provide design services for these projects.
Adequate funding has been provided by Food Services for this work. Board approval is required for a purchase order over $25,000. This work must begin immediately to allow construction begin construction upon conclusion of the 2012-13 school year, therefore approval is requested as a Consent Agenda Item without previous information. Work will begin immediately upon issuance of a purchase order subsequent to the approval of this Agenda Item.
Upon completion of the construction documents, the projects will be awarded to one or more Construction Mangers under their Continuing Contract for Construction Management Services. These recommendations will be submitted to the Board for approval upon receipt of the Guaranteed Maximum Prices for each project.
The total project budget for the design, construction, administration, permitting, inspections, testing, contingency and Owner Direct Purchases associated with these projects is estimated to be $1,184,518.00. Food Services has approved this estimate and has budgeted adequate funding in FY2012-13.

Approve Food Services facility renovations and equipment replacements/upgrades at Apollo ES, McAuliffe ES, DeLaura MS, Roosevelt ES, Stevenson ES, West Shore HS and Westside ES for a total project cost not to exceed $1,184,518.00 for design, construction, administration, permitting, inspections, testing, contingency and Owner Direct Purchases.
Approve Architects in Association Rood, Zwick & Kerr, Inc. (RZK) to provide design services for these projects under their Continuing Contract for Architectural-Engineering Services for a cost not to exceed $77,018.00.
