Agenda Item #29
Eau Gallie High School's and Satellite High School's AFJROTC Cadet Incentive Flight Programs
Headquarters Air Force JROTC has offered to support local orientation flight programs at JROTC units that have flight facilities available. Satellite High School and Eau Gallie High School are fortunate to have access to F.I.T. Aviation, LLC located at Melbourne International Airport. All flight instructors are certified by the Federal Aviation Administration and professionally managed by F.I.T. Cadets will receive one-half hour of flight instruction each. Both schools plan to fly two cadets at a time and fly ten sorties (20 cadets from each school). The cost per sortie is approximately $175.00 and funded by the Air Force and local efforts. Upon approval, each school will coordinate their respective school's orientation flights with F.I.T., the funding by the Air Force, and make arrangements to fly with the cadets and instructors. Each school will participate in six orientation flights, which will be flown in March, April and May, as funds are available. Flights will be managed in a way that tightly restricts time away from campus during the academic day.
To approve the Eau Gallie High School and Satellite High School AFJROTC Cadet Incentive Flight Programs provided by Florida Institute of Technology (F.I.T) Aviation, LLC.
