Ocean Breeze Elementary School - Fee for Additional Design Services

Discussion

The District engaged TLC, under their continuing services contract to design the HVAC renewal for Ocean Breeze. The initial contract amount was $74,365; however, the project scope was reduced and only $38,455 has been utilized to date.

 

In order to complete the highest priority Ocean Breeze capital needs list funded with the sales surtax, TLC has submitted a proposal for additional design services. This includes the fire alarm system renewal, building water and sanitary piping system renewal and electrical systems renewal. The scope does not include the relocatable covered walkways.  The additional fee for these services is $41,150. Because of the credit remaining on the contract, the net additional services cost is $2,695.

 

In order to expedite the work, approval is requested without prior information.

 

The design fee will be initially funded with capital funds and replaced with sales tax funds once available.



Recommendation

Approve the Additional Services Addendum with TLC, Inc. for Ocean Breeze facility renewal component design in an amount not to exceed $2,695.
