Agenda Item #39
Federal Department of Justice Grant - Design Build Contracts for Portable Classroom Relocation
Brevard Public Schools Students at Risk Department has been awarded a grant from the Federal Department of Justice (DOJ) for the Knowledge About What Works to Make Schools Safe Grant. The goal of this research grant is to provide mental health services for students and families. Mental health services will be provided by social worker units assigned at Cocoa High School, Cambridge Elementary School, Endeavour Elementary School and Saturn Elementary School. The relocation of one portable classroom to each these four locations will enable the social workers to carry out the grant requirements and provide appropriate storage of confidential records/information.
Canaveral Construction Company, Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for these services under their continuing contract for design build services in the amount not to exceed $189,435.50. The total project budget for this work including the construction, administration, permitting, inspections and contingency is estimated at $201,435.50.
