Title
Relocation of Playground Equipment from South Lake Education Center to Fairglen Elementary School - Guaranteed Maximum Price

Discussion

Fairglen Elementary School has raised adequate funding to dismantle, move and reinstall the unused playground equipment from South Lake Education Center to a location adjacent to their current playground, located in the northeast section of the campus.  The existing playground site can accommodate the additional equipment within ASTM F1487-05 guidelines.  Fairglen Elementary School has submitted an application under the School Initiated Projects Program, which has been approved by all required parties.

Canaveral Construction Company, Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) under their continuing contract for construction management services in the amount of $26,384.50 for the project.

The following services will be provided by Facilities Services at no cost to Fairglen Elementary School for this School Initiated Project:

  • Clean-up of the existing site and mulch for the new site
  • Project administration
  • Permitting and inspections

The total project budget for the GMP and contingency is $27,704.00.  Adequate funding has been transferred from the school to Facilities Services for the cost of this project.

Board approval is required for a Purchase Order over $25,000.00. In order to expedite this work, approval is requested as a consent agenda item without prior information.
