Palm Bay Magnet High School Robotics Trip to Anaheim, California
Palm Bay Magnet High School is requesting Board approval to participate in the 2014 VEX Robotics World Championship in Anaheim, California, on April 23-26, 2014.
Twelve students and three chaperones plan to fly to Anaheim, California, on Tuesday, April 22. The group will stay at the Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort. The competition will begin on Wednesday, April 23, and continue through Saturday, April 26. The group will return to Palm Bay at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 27. Four days of school (April 22-25) will be missed.
The cost per student is $835. Each student will pay $400 of this cost plus provide funds to cover their individual meals. The remainder of the cost will be covered by fundraisers, corporate sponsorships and grants. There will be no cost to the District.
This agenda item is being submitted for consent without prior information due to time constraints.
