Job Descriptions - Labor Relations

Discussion
To provide more timely response to allegations of misconduct the Office or Professional Standards and Labor Relations is proposing the creation of two roles: Manager-Labor Relations and Manager-Professional Standards.  Both roles will assist in the investigative process of misconduct allegations and will be pivotal in the evidence collection process.  Both roles will provide support to all schools, sites, and departments and may be called upon to testify in administrative or criminal proceedings.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the role of Manager-Labor Relations will reprise the role of Lead Negotiator for Brevard Public Schools.  The incumbent will represent the Board during the bargaining process and will provide contractual interpretation to staff as it relates to the collective bargaining agreements, board policy, and administrative procedure to support district goals.


Recommendation
Recommend approval of the two roles for the Office of Professional Standards & Labor Relations.
