Bayside High NJROTC is providing an excellent opportunity for 44 cadets to tour Marine Corps Base Quantico on April 28 to include HMX-1 (President's helicopter squadron), Weapons Training Battalion, Night Integrated Training Environment Facility and the K9 Training Unit.  On April 29 the cadets will tour the National Museum of the Marine Corps in the morning and be in Washington, D.C. for tours of the Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery for a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns, the Smithsonian Institute, and returning to Quantico in the evening.  On April 30 they will return to Washington for tours of the Capitol and numerous National monuments and museums.

Forty-four (44) Naval Science I, II, III, and IV cadets and five (5) adult (male and female) chaperones plan to travel by Travelynx Charter Bus.  The participants will be staying at the Crossroads Inn on MCB Quantico.

The group plans to leave Bayside High School at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, and return at approximately 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 1.  Two (2) school days will be missed (April 28 and 29).  The cost will be $214.09 per cadet.  The cadets conducted fundraising activities during August-December 2010 to defer individual expenses.  There will be no cost to the District.
