Recognition of the 2010 Teacher of the Year and Finalists

Discussion

Christina Donohue, a fourth grade teacher from Atlantis Elementary has been named BPS Teacher of the Year. In 2008, she received an Area IV Teacher Award for innovation in technology.  Donohue initiated a charter Elementary National Honor Society at Atlantis and acts as the club’s advisor.  She has helped to organize FCAT Information Nights to assist in alleviating the anxiety of parents as their children prepare for the exams. 

Ms. Donohue is the sponsor of Atlantis Elementary school’s Earth Club, and she brought an outdoor classroom to Atlantis as well.  Donohue has served as the Scholastic Director for the local Pop Warner league and has recently been appointed as Assistant Scholastic Director for the East Coast area. 

Other finalists for county Teacher of the year were: Andrea Boley, Southwest Middle; Kathy Crisafulli, Audubon Elementary; Andrea DeFrates, Space Coast Jr./Sr. High; Cynthia Hosken, Spessard Holland Elementary; Sherie Jenkins, West Shore Jr./Sr. High; Raul Montes, Cocoa High; and Mary Morton, Meadowlane Intermediate.



Recommendation
Recognize the 2010 Teacher of the Year, Ms. Christina Donohue and TOY finalists, Andrea Boley, Kathy Crisafulli, Andrea DeFrates, Cynthia Hosken, Sherie Jenkins, Raul Montes, and Mary Morton.
