The Palm Bay High School PiraTech FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team and FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team plan to compete in the FIRST World Championship in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 17-19, 2008.  Thirty-five students and five chaperones will participate in the trip.

The teams plan to leave on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, and return on Sunday, April 20, 2008.  Transportation will be provided by Dynamic Tours Charter Bus.  The group will stay at the Fairfield Inn, Atlanta, Georgia.  The cost will be approximately $600 per student.  Funds to cover the expenses of the trip were raised by fundraising activities, business sponsorships, and The Able Trust.  There will be no cost to the District.  The students will miss three days of school (April 16-18).  We are asking that this item be presented to the Board once for approval because of the time constraint.

Recommendation
