Agenda Item #56
H-6. Eau Gallie High School AFJROTC Cadet Incentive/Orientation Flight Program Provided by F.I.T. Aviation, LLC
Headquarters Air Force JROTC has offered to fund a local orientation flight program at JROTC units who have flight support available. We are fortunate to have access to F.I.T. Aviation, LLC located at Melbourne International Airport. All flight instructors are certified by the Federal Aviation Administration and professionally managed by F.I.T. Cadets will receive one-half hour of flight instruction each. We plan to fly two cadets at a time and fly ten sorties for a total of twenty cadets. Cost per sortie is approximately $150.00 and totally funded by the Air Force. Upon approval, CMSgt. Stephen Hudacek and Lt. Col. Robert Thorp will personally coordinate the orientation flights with F.I.T., funded by the Air Force, and fly with the cadets and instructor. The orientation flights will be flown during a one-month window and managed in a manner that tightly restricts time away from academics.
To approve the recommendation for the Eau Gallie High School AFJROTC incentive flight program for aviation-minded cadets.
