DeLaura Middle School - HVAC Renewal - Design Build Services
DeLaura Middle School has had sequential HVAC system projects funded through capital and the sales surtax starting in 2014, prior to the sales surtax, and continuing through summer 2016 with facility renewal scope as defined in the Sales Surtax Funded Detail Report (Attachment F).
The scope of the summer 2016 project was developed to fit within the remaining Attachment F facility renewal budget. This project is complete and is currently being commissioned and audited.
The scope of the summer 2017 project completes the HVAC system renewal which includes Building 1, the second floor of Building 3, Building 6, controls for Building 5 and air conditioning the gym. In January 2017 the District entered into a preconstruction services agreement with Canaveral Construction for the design and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) preparation for the remaining HVAC scope and air conditioning the gym based on their continuing contract for design build services.
The design is complete and Canaveral Construction has submitted a GMP for the work in the amount of $1,857,000.000, which includes the gym air conditioning in the amount of $415,731.00. The entire project is funded through capital, all of which was included in the Capital Plan recently approved by the School Board. The estimated administration and permitting costs are $50,000 for a total project budget of $1,907,000.00.
