Student Accommodation Plan Portable Relocation - Design Build Services

Discussion

The School Board will review the FY 2017-2018 Student Accommodation Plan (SAP) on March 28, 2017.  The SAP includes the relocation of fifteen (15) portable classrooms in accordance with the attached worksheet.

Canaveral Construction Co., Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the work under their continuing contract for design build services, based on a Design Criteria Package (DCP) prepared in house, with structural engineering details prepared by Droor & Associates under their structural engineering continuing contract. The GMP is not to exceed $700,209.  The requested project budget, not to exceed $720,209, includes an additional $20,000 for permitting and administration.

Funding for portable relocations resulting form the Student Accommodation Plan was budgeted in the FY 2016-2017 Capital Budget.

Board approval is required for purchase orders exceeding $50,000. Approval is requested concurrently with the Student Accommodation Plan to ensure that the portables can be ready for students in August.



Recommendation

Approve the project budget for portable relocation in an amount not to exceed $729,209.00.

Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by Canaveral Construction, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $709,209.00 under their continuing contract for design build services.
