Turner Elementary School - Bid Award Phase II HVAC Upgrades
Three existing air-handlers at Turner Elementary Schools have deteriorated significantly. Replacement of this equipment needs to be undertaken to insure the integrity of the building's mechanical system.
On April 24, 2012 the School Board approved eleven (11) vendors to provide Mechanical Installation, Service and Repair under a HVAC Mechanical Continuing Contract. Bids were requested from these vendors and Merritt Island Air and Heat, Inc. with a bid in the amount of $60,082.00 was found to be the lowest qualified bidder for the services required. The Total Project Budget for this work including the bid, administration, permitting, testing, inspections and contingency costs is estimated at $66,082.00.
Adequate funding has been identified and budgeted in the FY2013-14 Capital Budget for the Total Project Budget.
Board approval is required for a purchase order over $25,000. In order to expedite the work, approval is requested as a consent agenda item without previous information.

Approve the Total Project Budget for the Turner Elementary School Phase II HVAC Upgrades in the amount of $66,082.00.
Approve the bid of Merritt Island Air and Heat Inc. under their HVAC Mechanical Continuing Contract in the amount of $60,082.00.
