Title
Computer Labs Upgrades for 10 Schools

Discussion

The Educational Technology Division recommends utilizing construction manager Ruby Builders, Inc. under RFQ #082/LH expiring  12/31/13 for computer lab upgrades at the following schools:

Cape View Elementary School

Dr. W.J. Creel Elementary School

Central Middle School (2)

Enterprise Elementary School

Lockmar Elementary School

Longleaf Elementary School

Melbourne High School

Roosevelt Elementary School

Ralph Williams Elementary School

The labs are required to meet State testing mandates with expenditures being documented as consequences of such requirements.  The guaranteed maximum price (GMP) contract with competitive bidding processed, scheduling and expense breakdowns are included in this Board Agenda item.

Emergency purchasing approval procedures were initiated on March 14, 2013 in order to install many of these computers labs prior to April 15th through April 26th testing window.



Recommendation
Approve construction management contract for $122,798.00 to upgrade ten computer labs to support mandated State end of course testing for the 2012-2013 school year.
