H-13. Appointment of Capital Outlay Committee Representative

Discussion

Paragraph 2.3 of the Interlocal Agreement for Public School Facility Planning and School Concurrency, dated October 2007 and approved by the School Board on 10/9/07 (Item F-6), required the establishment of a Capital Outlay Committee (COC) "...for the purpose of reviewing potential sites for new schools, proposals for significant renovation, potential closure of existing schools and opportunities to co-locate schools with other public facilities such as parks, libraries, and community centers to the extent possible...review the School District’s annual Five-Year Capital Facilities Work Program in accordance with Section 4.1 and 10 of this Agreement, and serve as the required oversight committee for school concurrency as detailed in Section 14 of this Agreement."

 In addition to appropriate representatives of the School Board, the COC will include at least one staff member from the County and a representative from each of the participating Cities.

 



Recommendation
Appoint Dane Theodore (Director, Facilities Planning & Project Management) as the School Board of Brevard County's representative to the Capital Outlay Committee and appoint Michael Gaffney (Manager, Facilities Planning) as the alternate representative to the Capital Outlay Committee.
