F-12. Field Trip for Palm Bay High School to Attend 2008 Vex Robotics World Championship at California State University
The Palm Bay High School FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team has been invited to compete in the 2008 Vex Robotics World Championship on May 1-3, 2008, at California State University in Northridge, California. Twelve students and four chaperones plan to participate in the trip.
The group plans to make airline reservations to leave on Thursday, May 1, 2008, and return on Sunday, May 4, 2008. The group will stay at the Radisson Hotel in Northridge, California. The cost will be approximately $800 per student with parents paying for transportation and hotel costs. Funds to cover other expenses of the trip were raised by fundraising activities, business sponsorships, and The Able Trust. There will be no cost to the District. The students will miss two days of school (May 1 and 2).
Approve the field trip request by the Palm Bay High School FIRST Tech Challenge Team to attend the 2008 Vex Robotics World Championship at California State University on May 1-4, 2008. There will be no cost to the District.
