H-12. Sabal Elementary School's 6th Grade Field Trip to Washington, DC and Philadelphia, PA - May 18 - 24, 2008
The sixth grade students at Sabal Elementary are requesting approval to take an educational field trip to Washington, DC and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, May 18-24, 2008 (itinerary attached). These dates include the last full week of school, so students would miss a total of 5 days of instruction. The group will depart from Sabal Elementary School at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 18th via Annett Bus Lines of Sebring, Florida and return to Sabal Elementary School on Saturday, May 24th at approximately 10:00 a.m. Lodging will be at the Best Western in Woodbridge, Virginia (May 19 and 20) and Comfort Inn in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (May 21 and 22). The trip will involve approximately 30 students and 10 adult chaperones of both genders. The total cost per person ($395) was earned from sixth grade fundraisers. This amount covers transportation, lodging and breakfast, admission fees and tee shirts. An additional $125 per person (money earned at home) will cover noon and evening meals, which is the only funding for which parents are responsible. Teachers and the administration will provide supplemental funds for those children who are in need.
