2016-2017 Student Accommodation Plan
Each year, the Facilities Services Planning staff, in association with the Area Superintendents, the school principals, and the Finance Department, prepares a Student Accommodation Plan to ensure that adequate and appropriate facilities are available to accommodate the students and programs planned for the following school year. For the 2016-2017 school year, four (4) additional relocatable classrooms have been requested. These classroom units will be surplus units that are relocated from another school. The cost to relocate these units is estimated not to exceed $288,188.43, with an additional $10,000 in administration and permitting costs. Approval for this expenditure will be submitted for Board approval as a separate agenda item.
Note: Since the publication of the Information Agenda Item for the 2016-2017 Student Accommodation Plan, the document has been edited. The spreadsheets in Sections 4-6 are updated with notes and formatting to show proposed changes to the relocatable classrooms at 5 schools and the associated calculations of capacity utilization. Additionally, the projections for Pinewood Elementary were reduced due to the relocation of the Head Start Program.
