Matt Reed, Assistant Superintendent, Government and Community Relations, provided an update to the Board.
Mr. Craig expressed that he was fine with dollars following the student whether or not those students were in charter schools or not. However, there must be a concrete formula that can be developed. He suggests we work on finding a formula that works for Brevard.
Ms. Descovich said we must go big on transportation. Ms. Belford indicated that transportation is the only way to make available choice programs for every child.
Dr. Blackburn wanted the Board to know that FADSS is getting a response ready for the legislature depending on the outcomes and it is unbearable to start the year in the negative in a non-recession year.
Mr. Craig wants for Brevard to go though individual items and indicate the financial impact to legislators. He feels that will show them a better picture of what is at stake.
