Title 1, Part D Prevention and Intervention Programs for Children and Youth who are Neglected, Delinquent, or At Risk
The Federal entitlement application is being prepared for online submission to the Florida Department of Education by June 30, 2017. We are awaiting notification from FLDOE as to the projected award amount. As a reference, $339,211 was awarded for the 2016-2017 school year. This grant is designed to provide transitional services, academic/vocational instruction, academic counseling, and progress monitoring for neglected, delinquent, and at-risk youth to ensure these students have every opportunity to successfully meet graduation and promotion requirements. This entitlement grant funds supplemental instructional and support staff, classroom materials, and software for the following programs: Brevard Regional Juvenile Detention Center, Frances Walker Halfway House, Brevard Group Treatment Home, Hacienda Girls Ranch, and Melbourne Center for Personal Growth.
Once submitted, a copy of the grant will be available in the Office of Student Services.
With permission, the application will be signed by the Superintendent and mailed to the Florida Department of Education to meet the June 30, 2017 grant deadline. Upon award, a "Consent after Information" agenda item will be submitted for Board Approval at a subsequent meeting.
