McLarty Stadium - General Contractor Services
The District received an accessibility complaint through the US Department of Education Office of Civil Rights (OCR) regarding accessibility at McLarty Stadium. The initial phase of the project addressing the complaint was completed last year and included new accessible parking and sidewalks. The remaining phase of the project includes constructing new platforms and ramps for accessible seating on both grandstands. This work will conclude the District's responsibilities under the Resolution Agreement (dated May 12, 2016) with the US Department of Education Office of Civil Rights.
Based on the design by Morgan & Associates under their continuing contract for civil engineering design services, quotes were requested from the District's continuing services general contractors under RFP #13-P-039KR. Four quotes were received. The low quote was received from Heard Construction, Inc. in the amount of $89,527.
Project administration, permitting and inspection costs are budgeted at $5,000.
The project will be funded with capital funds designated for accessibility requests.
Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000.
Approve the total project budget of $94,527 for the construction of Phase II of the McLarty Stadium accessibility improvement project.
Award the project to the low bidder, Heard Construction, Inc., in the amount of $89,527.
