Field Trip - Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High School Students in Action to 2017 National Jefferson Awards Ceremony in Washington DC
The Jefferson Awards-Deloitte Students in Action (SIA) program announced that Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High School has been selected as the recipient for Outstanding Service by a high school and will represent Central Florida at the 2017 Jefferson Awards National Ceremony and Gala Event in Washington DC on June 21-23, 2017. A group of up to 17 students and two BPS employees (one male and one female) plan to travel by air on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 to Washington DC and return on Friday, June 23, 2017. Students will miss no school days.
The Jefferson Award Foundation will pay for two students and one faculty adult chaperone. The senior and junior president of SIA were selected along with the BPS male employee/sponsor. Cost per student is $800. Funds from approved fund raisers will be used to help offset the cost for additional students. The female BPS employee will cover her own expenses. Additional A+ chaperones are being sought for the trip. THERE IS NO COST TO THE DISTRICT.
Approve the Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High Students in Action representatives to travel and participate in the Jefferson Awards National Ceremony and Gala Event in Washington DC on June 21-23, 2017.
