Field Trip - Viera High - Family Career and Community Leaders of America Club to the National Competition in San Diego, CA

Three Viera High students earned positions to compete at the Family, Career & Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) National Leadership Conference  July 3-7, 2016 in San Diego, California.  The group comprised of three students and the faculty sponsor will travel by air to San Diego, CA for the conference.  The event will be held at the San Diego Convention Center and the group will be staying at the Hilton San Diego, Bayfront, a convention center hotel within two blocks of the convention center.  Students will either walk or take public transportation between the hotel and the convention center.

All students and the faculty sponsor are female.  Students will travel to and from the conference with parents.  No school days will be missed.  Costs will be kept to a minimum with a goal of not exceeding $1400 each.  The trip is self-funded, or monies will be used from school approved fundraising activities, donations and grants.  In case of students not being able to pay, there will be fundraisers to help offset the cost.  THERE IS NO COST TO THE DISTRICT. 

Funding:  funds will be collected and distributed from a Brevard Schools Foundation account, if awarded.  Funds will also be coming from parents and donations.

Approve the request for Viera High FCCLA Club, approximately three (3) students and one (1) sponsor, to attend the Family, Career & Community Leaders of America National Leadership Conference in San Diego, CA July 3-7, 2016.
