Andersen Elementary - Phase II Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Design Services (SALES SURTAX)
The District is currently under contract with Heard Construction, Inc. for HVAC renewal at Andersen Elementary School, Buildings 2, 3 and 5, scheduled for summer 2015. This work is generally included in the sales surtax list for Andersen Elementary (Attachment F). Sales tax funding for those items is expected to replace the Capital Funds identified for the project when it was approved February 24, 2015.
Project Management staff is proceeding with the design for the remaining facility renewal items on the sales surtax funded list with the exception of the relocatable covered walkways which will be handled at the end of the surtax program.
OCI Associates, Inc. provided the design for the current HVAC renewal project. Their attached proposal, in an amount not to exceed $36,990, will provide design services for the remaining mechanical, electrical and plumbing system work. The work includes chiller repair, cooling towers, HVAC equipment and building automation system for Building 4, electrical systems and water supply piping renewal. The roof renewal will be addressed separately. The design will also address the power needs to support the classroom technology infrastructure funded by the sales surtax.
The design services will be funded by the sales surtax.
School Board approval is required for a purchase order over $25,000. In order to expedite the design, approval is requested as a consent agenda item without prior information.
Approve the fee proposal as submitted by OCI Associates, Inc. under their Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineering Services Continuing Contract in an amount not to exceed $36,990.00 for the Phase II Andersen Elementary School MEP project.
