Job Description - Mathematics Instructional Coach
To improve teaching and learning in mathematics, increase student achievement of the mathematical standards, and sustain the instructional capacity of the Mathematics Florida Standards (MAFS), the attached job description for the Mathematics Instructional Coach has been revised. This position was created specifically for use by district leadership teams as they create coaching supports to enhance capacity of their schools to implement and use the MAFS with fidelity. No additional costs are associated with this change.
The mathematics coaching model provides dynamic collaboration and facilitation to foster instructional change and promote teaching practices that advance student learning in mathematics. Job-embedded professional learning effectively supports newly learned knowledge and skills into practice, which conceptually integrates daily high quality professional development at the school level and overall serves the needs of the district in attaining higher student outcomes in mathematics.
Recommend approval of the changes to the Mathematics Instructional Coach job description as outlined.
