Stone Middle School Trip to U.S. Army eCYBERMISSION Competition in Washington, D.C.
eCYBERMISSION is a U.S. Army-sponsored, web-based science, math and technology competition that allows students in grades six through nine to compete for regional and national awards while working to solve problems in their community. The 8th grade team (SBS Bots) from Stone Middle School won first place in the 2007-2008 regional competition and has been invited to Washington, D.C. on June 21-25, 2008, to compete in this year's National Judging and Educational Event.
The winning team members are Zen Campbell, Jason Draper, Dalton Stanley, and Spencer Tuttle. The chaperone is Richard Regan, Stone Middle School teacher. All expenses (airfare, hotel, meals) are paid by the U.S. Army for team members and their sponsor/chaperone.
The team will fly out of Orlando International Airport on June 21 and return on June 25. They will be staying at the JW Marriott Hotel in Washington, D.C. There will be no cost to the District.
