Stone Middle School Trip to eCYBERMISSION National Judging and Educational Event in Leesburg, Virginia

Discussion

eCYBERMISSION is a U.S. Army sponsored, web-based science, math and technology competition that allows students in grades six through nine to compete for regional and national awards while working to solve problems in their community.  The 7th grade science research/Iris Cybermission Team from Stone Middle School has been named a Regional First Place Winning Team.  The team has been invited to travel to the National Conference Center in Leesburg, Virginia, from June 17-22, 2012, for the 2012 eCYBERMISSION National Judging and Educational Event.

The winning team members are Marilyn Costa, Marissa Jordon, Kylie Lindermoyer and Brianna Youhana.  The chaperones will be Richard Regan and Paulette Statlick, teachers at Stone Middle School.  All expenses (airfare, hotel, meals) are paid by the U.S. Army.  There will be no cost to the District.

The team will fly out of Orlando International Airport on Sunday, June 17, and return on Friday, June 22.  They will be staying at the National Conference Center in Leesburg, Virginia.



Recommendation
Approve Stone Middle School's Iris Cybermission Team to attend the 2012 eCYBERMISSION National Judging and Educational Event in Leesburg, Virginia, on June 17-22, 2012.
