Job Description - Principal-Alternative Schools
The rationale for the new position of Principal – Alternative Sites is to align with the strategic plan strategies for objective L5 to include identifying and creating an alternatives to suspension program, expansion of dropout prevention programs, and reconfiguring the alternative learning centers as well as developing programs at the ALCs in cooperation with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. The creation of the position is cost-neutral through careful analysis of the budget in Student Services. The addition of the position will provide for a streamlined approach to both alternative schools monitoring and supervision and the development of dropout prevention programs in regular schools. Approval of the job description and the hiring of a principal for the alternative sites allows for the director of student services to coordinate services to all regular and charter schools related to attendance, dropout prevention programs, and other activities aligned with student services.
