Oak Park Elementary School Educational Technology Construction Management Services - SALES SURTAX
Canaveral Construction Company, Inc.'s Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in the amount of $474,553 for the mechanical and electrical upgrades at Oak Park Elementary School was approved by the Board at their April 12, 2016 meeting. Additional scope has been added to the contract for the installation of two circuits per classroom for the purpose of enhancing the classroom technology infrastructure. This additional scope is defined under the Educational Technology portion of the Sales Surtax Funded Detail Report (Attachment F).
The cost for this additional work is addressed in Change Order No. 1 to Canaveral Construction Company, Inc.'s original contract in the amount of $76,077.10. Administrative costs are estimated at $1,000 for a total change order budget of $77,077.10.
School Board approval is required when a change order to the contract exceeds ten percent of the original contract amount. In order to expedite the work, allowing for construction this summer, approval is requested as a consent agenda item without prior information.
Approve the total change order budget for the addition of two circuits in each classroom for technology infrastructure at Oak Park Elementary in an amount not to exceed $77,077.10.
Approve Change Order No. 1 submitted by Canaveral Construction Company, Inc. under their continuing services contract for construction management in an amount not to exceed $76,077.10
