Agenda Item #6
Recognition of District Business Partners of the Year
Each year, two Business Partners from our district are selected as the district winners to be honored by the Commissioner of Education. In addition, a Non-Profit Business Partner of the year is selected to be honored at the district level.
The Outstanding Business Partners of the Year are:
Merritt Island Moose Lodge
In an effort to provide service learning opportunities, the Moose Lodge offers participation in its Moose Youth Awareness Program in which Edgewood students act as role models to younger children and guide them in positive directions in life. In addition, at holiday events, the Moose Lodge invites Edgewood students to participate and interact with younger children to help the youth of the community become better citizens.
The superior science education students receive along the Space Coast is due, in no small part, to Harris Corporation's ongoing support of Brevard Public Schools. Nominated by Bayside High, this school has benefited tremendously from the company's "hands on" approach.
Electronic Training Systems Inc.
For the last several years, Robert "Bob" Seemer, President and Chief Operating Officer of Electronic Training Solutions, Inc. based in Cocoa, Florida, has been a tireless volunteer at Brevard Public Schools. He has offered his time and expertise in providing countless hours of training and support to BPS personnel in quality management best practices and processes.
